Shimla City has been rapidly expanding. It is spread across the circular road with an expanse of around 10 kilometers. We have enlisted several major places in Shimla below.
The city center surrounds around the ridge and the Mall road. To the one side of mall road is the lower bazaar and to other is Lakkar bazaar and Tibetan market. This snapshot taken by some unknown photographer reveals the true beauty of the city. Lots of hotels are built around this area.
Sanjauli is second most densely populated part of the city.This is residential area and number of hotels here are quite less. It is at a distance of around 10 kilometers via Chotta Shimla road and 4 kilometers via Lakkar Bazaar.
Just separated from Sanjauli by a tunnel is Dhalli. Like Sanjauli Dhalli is also a residential area.
Chotta Shimla is at a distance of 5 kilometers from Shimla bus stand and you can reach here by taking the bus from local bus stand.
New Shimla & BCS
BCS and New Shimla are at a distance of 5 -7 kilometers respectively. To reach here you need to board a bus from local bus stand.
Panthaghti, Vikasnagar & Mehli
Just a few kilometers away on the same road to BCS are outskirts of Panthaghati, Vikasnagar, and Mehli. To reach these places you need to board a bus from local bus stand.
Summer Hill, Boileauganj
5-6 kilometers away from Shimla is Summer hill which is close to Chadwick falls, Potter Hill and Observatory hill where Viceroy lodge is located.
You can catch a bus to reach Summer hill from old bus stand.
