Shimla Green Valley
Also known as Hassan Valley, Shimla green valley is one of the most popular tourist sites in Shimla. Green Valley is a view of a beautiful mountain range from a point on the way to Kufri from Shimla at NH22 or NH5. Shimla Green Valley is approximately 2200 -2500 meters above from sea level. The area is covered by dense ever green Deodar forest. The forest is actually water catchment wildlife sanctuary. Every day lots of tourists come here to witness the panoramic view of one of the densest forest cover in Asia. They can be seen using binoculars and telescopes generally provided by locals.
Into the woods is 7 k.m. long track which cuts through the midst of valley and ends at water catchment where you can enjoy mountain biking. You can hire cycles at Rs. 250 per person for up to two hours. However, you must note that you may also find wild animals like leopard and antelopes.
How to reach?
This sight seen is generally included in the package, when you are going to the Kufri. If you are traveling by bus you can board the bus from bus stand. The distance of Shimla Green Valley is around 8 k.m. from Shimla bus stand.
